We aren't the only ones making tracks in the snow. River otters often travel between watersheds in the winter by sliding through the snow, holding their front legs against their bodies and pushing with their hind legs.

I wonder where it's going?

I wonder what was dragged there :)
Like a scene from a horror movie, no?

Looks like someone dragged a body through the woods? was it you? ;-)
Claus Petersen on 26th February 2009 @ 6:21pm
I'm glad Ilan and Claus said that, because that's exactly what I was going to say. I mean it's too thin to be a body. Under normal circumstances anyway. But for some reason this looks very sinister.

You guys gotta get out more! Maybe because I know what made this (a river otter - see above), I always think these are a funny sight when I see them. Just imagine, this furry, little creature is zipping along through the woods, sliding on his stomach, moving from one river to another in search of love or food. The first cross-country skier!

otter slide!! hehehe weeeeeeeeee!!!! i dig this shot alot

it COULD be an otter dragging another otter. I mean, you didn't actually SEE an otter sliding. We have to consider all possibilities and I like to err on the sinister side.

How cool--seems like a long haul. I like the play of the horizontal otter path and the vertical trees. Nice shot.

Cool shot...a body, hmm.. a log perhaps? Inviting none-the-less!
